Filling the Hungry

“He has filled the hungry with good things.” (Luke 1:53)

When Persecution Project received the distress call from doctors in the Nuba mountains last year, we were not sure whether we could take on such a great challenge.

Hundreds of children were reportedly dying every day. Mothers watched as their little ones wasted away from hunger. Many were so weak they couldn’t eat.

We sent out an appeal to our ministry partners to help.

“We need $100,000 to provide therapeutic feeding and medical care for 1,000 starving children.”

Thanks to your generosity, we quickly met our goal. The first deliveries arrived in November.

After this, we tried to do the same in December, and we raised enough funds to cover both December and January.

We then took a leap of faith. Because the need is so great, we decided to incorporate this emergency therapeutic feeding project into our program for 2025.

Guess what? You’re probably reading this post in early April. This means we’ve already met our obligations for this project through the end of March. We are one quarter of the way through the year… and we’re still feeding starving children.

Thank you.

God bless you for your generosity.

We asked Dr. Martin at Gigaiba Referral Hospital and Dr. Alamin at Tujor Hospital to send a few photos of the children they’re currently helping, so you can see the latest recipients of your “active compassion.” We hope they encourage you.

The war in Sudan continues to grow and the prospects for peace seem increasingly elusive. We cannot be certain of what the future holds for the region, but that’s okay. We know Who’s in charge.

In the meantime, we’ll keep feeding His children.

There are literally millions of children needing help in Sudan. We may not be able to save all of them.  But we can save one. We can save 1,000. With your help, we can even save 12,000 by Christmas of 2025— and we must.

It is a great joy and privilege to do this work. We have already been blessed by seeing what God has accomplished through your giving.

Please continue to pray for the Nuba church, as it reaches out to share the Gospel in word and deed to the marginalized and persecuted within their community. And pray that Persecution Project can continue to stand with our brothers and sisters in their time of need.
