On April 15th, 2023, the nation of Sudan erupted in civil war.
Fighting began on the streets of the capital city of Khartoum between elements of the Islamist elite which has ruled the country since 1956.
Millions of people were trapped in the burning city with no way out.

Two men decided to do something about it. An elderly pastor named Moses and his young evangelist assistant, Emmanuel, were both living in Khartoum. Both were originally from the Nuba mountains. And both decided they could not stand by and do nothing as their neighborhoods burned.

The men coordinated with Persecution Project to organize transportation to get as many of their countrymen (mostly women and children) out of the city and to relative safety back in the Nuba mountains. In a few weeks during the Summer of 2023, they rescued roughly 3,000 souls. Their story inspired us to produce the film Exodus, which you can watch at NubaExodus.com.

Today the war in Sudan has displaced more than 12 million people and created famine conditions for another 25.6 million. It’s the largest humanitarian crisis in the world today.
