Our regular readers will have seen photos of the completed Maternity Ward at Dr. Ahmed Zakariah’s Gegaiba Referral Hospital (GRH). We are very grateful for the thousands of contributors who have sacrificed to see this construction project through.

One of the major shortages at GRH is support staff for Dr. Ahmed. Most of the nurses are trained by Dr. Ahmed himself. But during times of a surge of patients (for instance in the rainy season), Dr. Ahmed is literally swamped with a flood of responsibility and few hands to help carry the load.
There is a major need for volunteer medical professionals to come and serve short-term to help Dr. Ahmed provide the best care possible to the persecuted in his community.
This need is why Persecution Project has been assisting Dr. Ahmed in building a very comfortable compound for visiting doctors and nurses. We hope to complete this compound in 2021 to facilitate a regular rotation of medial professionals to the people of Sudan’s Nuba mountains.

If you are a medical professional willing to serve at GRH once the support compound is complete, please contact Ed Lyons (ed.lyons@persecutionproject.org) to be placed on the list.
