Medical Relief to the Nuba Mountains

Since May, 2011, a campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing has been waged against the people of the Nuba Mountains of Sudan by the terrorist-controlled government in Khartoum. Towards the close of 2012, PPF and senior staff of ministry partner The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) visited the embattled Nuba Mountains of Sudan.

During the trip, our team met with senior medical officers in the region, who expressed a desperate need for medicine to serve the various primary health care units in the Nuba, including the Mother of Mercy Hospital.

With the generous assistance of VOM, PPF organized the acquisition and transport of these medicines across the border into the mountains. The journey was long and dangerous, but in the end, successful as all medicines arrived and were distributed.

More than a million people live in the Nuba Mountains, and with the rainy season fast approaching, it was vital that these medicines reach the area before roads become swamps and the region becomes inaccessible.

UN Troops in Yida

UN troops patrol the Yida refugee camp in South Sudan, home to more than 60,000 Nuba refugees.

This important medical outreach would not have been possible without God working through the compassionate hearts of our friends at The Voice of the Martyrs, and the thousands of faithful PPF donors, who have sacrificially stood with this ministry and the people it seeks to serve.

Thank you.
